I didn't say that I care if people want to transition, so I'll answer, I don't. But I also support women who want sex segregated spaces. From there it becomes a nuanced discussion where there is no one universal answer that won't take away from either transgender women, women, or both. Nuanced discussion has died or horrible death on this site, so it is unlikely there'll be a rational discussion of the nuances and potential compromises that could be made.

#36 the lack of right posters isn't what makes me say that the echo chamber is in effect. I say it because other points of view were discussed many years back, but now any dissent from the "proper" point of view is shouted down as Magat, Bigot, Fascist, -ist, -ism, etc... It didn't used to be that way. Do those people exist in the world? Of course. Does looking to discuss an issue from an alternate pov mean you are one? No. Now though here, it does.

All of this said with the knowledge and agreement that this has always been a left leaning site. It's that the slope of the lean has increased and the intolerance for dissent has as well.

As a long timer at this point, I used to come here because there was a decent amount of Right and Left posters. The news stories were varied, and the comments actually debated them and weren't trolling. It made the site a good single stop news shopping experience. I could come here, see all the relevant news headlines, catch up on the comments discussion and get a good blend of what the left and right were both saying and get a full 360 view of an issue to help inform my own opinion on it.

Now though, it's a left wing echo chamber that shouts down discussion if it doesn't reinforce the echo chamber. I still come since it still has a good collection of the days headlines, but it has lost the 360 view. I supplement with other sites, and blend this in for a more far left flavor to the others to keep a balance.
