Five Man Electrical Band - Signs (1971)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

genius.com

...
And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people
Need not apply"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat
And I went in to ask him why
He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man
I think you'll do"
So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that
Huh! Me workin' for you!"
Whoa-oh-oh

[Chorus]
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery
Breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that
Can't you read the sign?

[Verse 2]
And the sign said anybody caught trespassing
Would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house
"Hey! What gives you the right?
To put up a fence to keep me out
Or to keep Mother Nature in
If God was here he'd tell you to your face
Man, you're some kinda sinner"

[Chorus]
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery
Breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that
Can't you read the sign?

{In album version only}

[Bridge]
Now, hey you, mister, can't you read?
You've got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat
You can't even watch, no, you can't eat
You ain't supposed to be here
The sign said you got to have a membership card to get inside
Ugh!

[Verse 3]
And the sign said, "Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray"
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all, I didn't have a penny to pay
So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said, "Thank you, Lord, for thinkin' 'bout me. I'm alive and doin' fine."
Wooo!

As I look back to my years in college when the phrases like ~you're a long haired hippie freak~ (because I was protesting against the Vietnam War) were tossed at me. Well, this obscure song from back in the day hits a bell.

Putin says Biden is better for Russia than a Trump presidency (February 2024)
www.nbcnews.com

... President Joe Biden has been handed an endorsement from an unexpected and perhaps unwelcome source: the Kremlin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that his country would prefer to see the "more experienced" Biden in the White House for a second term than the Republican front-runner, former President Donald Trump.

The comments, which may be taken more as mischievous meddling than serious statecraft, were the Russian leader's most direct in public on the upcoming U.S. presidential election. They were welcomed by Trump but dismissed by the White House, which urged Putin to "stay out" of the election. ...

Who are the witnesses testifying at the Jan. 6 hearings? (2022)
www.pbs.org

... Cooperated with the committee? Yes. Pottinger has voluntarily appeared before the committee and some of his testimony has already appeared as video during previous hearings.

In his testimony, he said that he decided to resign from the administration, where he'd worked since the beginning of Trump's term, when he saw the president's 2:24 p.m. tweet deriding Vice President Mike Pence.

An aide handed him a sheet of paper with Trump's tweet on it, Pottinger testified. It "disturbed" him that Trump was attacking Pence for carrying out his constitutional duty in overseeing the certification of Biden's presidential victory, he said.

"I simply didn't want to be associated with the events that were unfolding at the Capitol," he said, adding that the tweet added "fuel to the fire." ...

Since resigning, Matthews has been critical of Trump. On the one year anniversary of the attacks, Matthews tweeted that the Capitol riot was a "coup attempt" and said Trump "failed to meet the moment." ...

"Basically, the president got everyone riled up, told everyone to head on down, so we were following what he said," Ayres said. As the attack on the Capitol began and members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence were forced into secure locations amid the insurrection, ...

Yeah, your current alias' assertion seems to fall flat on its face.

@#7 ... It's only 4 months....

In what the local call a "country club" no less.

I mean from the google aerial view, there looks to be a baseball field, a handball court, a basketball court, a running loop etc., on premises.

When I drive by it on rt37, heading to New Fairfield, I see a large expanse of open fields. So, space doesn't seem to be a problem.

Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury

Got to keep those inmates happy, I guess.

@#39 ... The permanent solution is to get the homeless into involuntary drug and alcohol rehab programs and forcing the mentally ill into institutions. ...

Why does your current alias seem to assume that those are the reasons for homelessness?

And then there's this...

How Reagan's Decision to Close Mental Institutions Led to the Homelessness Crisis (April 2023)
obrag.org

... As a psychologist who began practicing nearly 40 years ago, I've seen a significant shift in the care of the mentally ill since the mid-1980s " and it hasn't been for the better.

After the deinstitutionalization movement began in California in the 1960s, many state mental health hospitals closed, forcing many folks who needed a lot of care onto the streets.

Without those facilities, many mentally ill people ended up in jails and prisons which are not set up to provide safe, compassionate care for brain illnesses. But in 1981, when President d Reagan deinstitutionalized the mentally ill and emptied the psychiatric hospitals into so-called "community" clinics, the problem got worse.

Most of those who were deinstitutionalized from the nation's public psychiatric hospitals were severely mentally ill. Between 50 percent and 60 percent were diagnosed with schizophrenia. The fact that many of these people struggled with various forms of brain dysfunction was not recognized back then. With so many advances in brain science, experts now know that we need to be able to coordinate care in residential facilities, especially if we are housing people at $4,000 per day in a local medical hospital. ...
