At least three key Senate Republicans are criticizing President Donald Trump's budget proposal, arguing it does not do enough to support the military. The White House proposal, which was released Friday, sets aside $1 trillion for the Pentagon, a 13 percent increase. But it assumes $119.3 billion of that will come from the "one big beautiful" bill that Republican lawmakers are working on to deliver on Trump's legislative priorities, including defense. Susan Collins (Maine), chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee; and Sen. Mitch McConnell (Kentucky), the former Republican leader.

The plan was described in a National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM-4), titled "Military Mission for Sealing the Southern Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions." The document sets in motion the creation of a military area that is twice the size of Washington, D.C. It also expands the U.S. military's role in stopping migrants crossing the border.

I ejected the mother for questioning my call, the daughter for not ratting her mother out immediately, and the rest of the fans in the bleachers for silent complicity.
I received a standing ovation from the other team
