President Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to a new low in a recent American Research Group poll, with just 30% of Americans approving of his job performance as the 2026 midterm elections approach. The survey, conducted June 16"20 among 1,100 respondents (plus or minus 3 percentage points), found 66% disapprove of Trump, the highest disapproval and lowest approval ever recorded by the pollster during either of his presidencies. Among those who disapprove of Trump, economic pessimism is widespread: 82% say they expect conditions to worsen over the next year, according to the poll.

A member of a family that runs a California raisin company is facing hate crime charges after he allegedly terrorized his Jewish neighbors in Pacific Palisades. On Wednesday, Bruce Lion, who was arrested over the weekend, was set to be arraigned. But the proceeding was reportedly postponed because the 64-year-old would not come out of his jail cell. Cunin detailed moments when Lion allegedly approached the rabbi's wife and made antisemitic statements: "I hate you, Jews. You killed my lord and savior. Your husband killed my lord and savior." Another instance included allegedly hosing down a congregant's car. This behavior allegedly went on for weeks, with several neighbors calling the police almost daily, according to Cunin.

Six men were arrested on federal charges for an alleged double kidnapping and torture, which included a blowtorch, at a Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood, Fla. According to a federal criminal complaint obtained by NewsNation, one of the suspects, identified as 19-year-old Saul Alfonso Fajardo, asked the two victims if they wanted to smoke weed in Fajardo's car in the parking garage. All individuals agreed. After arriving at the car, a witness called the police to report multiple people had taken the two victims by gunpoint and placed them in two separate vehicles.
