I don't disagree with you on the number of EC votes in each state, but KH seems to be polling reasonably well in PN even without picking a VP. And I don't think many PN Dems are going to note vote is Shapiro is not her choice.

Anyway...I'm sure they have hundreds of data scientists working through all the different possible outcome to determine which potential pick will provide the most benefit.

Both VP candidates (top VP candidates?) are good choices. IMO Mark Kelly is a better choice because of his record, and the fact that he is not jewish. KH seems to be doing OK in PN, so Shapiro might not be necessary to grab a few more EC votes. She is down in AZ though, and Kelly would likely improve her position there.

I think there are negative aspects to Israeli policy. I wouldn't have been as rash as they have been. But their logic is sound. It's no different than that of the allies during WWII when fighting Germany and Japan.

Why do you think 90 Palestinians died in the strike against the leader of the Hamas military wing two weeks ago? Inaccurate weapons? Carpet bombing? An intent to kill civilians?

Let me put it this way. If Israel were to strike the head of the US military, the resulting civilian casualties could be counted on one hand. Why? because a wartime commander is not going to be surrounded by civilians...unless they are doing so intentionally.

Like I said. By design. Every last Palestinian man, woman, and child is expendable. They're all human shields. And even the loss of a valuable commander might be more value-added if the global outcry is significant enough.

Venezuela is a safe harbor, literally and figuratively, for the pariah nation that few others in the region want anything to do with.

It's been a while, but at one point Russia was courting Columbia to provide them with combat aircraft for their air force. And more importantly...the logistics tail essential to support it. The US did not want to provide them with anything at the time due to Leahy vetting. Columbia still opted not to take Russia's offer.

BTW, prior to Chavez, Venezuela had one of the strongest economies in South America. Not so much anymore.

Masks do work-that tech has been around forever. And I can't speak to the masks required in certain places in the US, but in Germany the ones that were protective of the individual were illegal. You were required to wear a mask designed to protect others.

Finland is a cool place. If you like outdoor activities, it has a lot to offer. The author is right though, it is dark through much of the year...even by European standards.

The free healthcare is not free, and many European choose to take out private plans. Taxes are far higher, especially on lower income earners. The marginal rates cap out at far lower levels than in the US. None of this is good or bad-just different. But none of the reasons you mentioned above contributed to my deciding to remain living in Europe. In fact access to guns is a little too restrictive for my taste. They're everywhere and relatively easy to get. What's harder is find a group to go shooting with.
