In any case, explain to me how lower income people are not able to take advantage of this program? I guess I missed that part. All I heard was it was drawing money from other public schools where the parents didn't care as much about their kids education.

It's pretty well understood by economists that FDR's economic policies exacerbated the Great Depression. I'm not knocking the guy-he was the first US president to have to deal with something like this, and he created the conditions where, during WWII, the US was able to produce 2/3rds of all military equipment used by the allies during the war. Despite the fact that the US military ranked 39th in the world in 1939.

Thom Hartmann isn't interested in history. If he were, he would have mentioned that when tax rates were at their highest, so were the things you could deduct. In fact it was the wealthy USans who were most against Reagan's TRA86, because even though it lowered marginal rates, it eliminated many of the deductions wealthy households were able to take advantage of. Marginal rates are immaterial. a 91% marginal rate means nothing if you can claim enough deductions to get the effective rate down to zero.

Hartmann also ignores the impacts of the post-war economy, where the US was the only economy on the planet capable of widespread heavy industry.

At the end of the British Mandate the Palestinians were offered a levant homeland for Arab residents, very much like what the Zionists were offered as a homeland for the Jewish population.

And if we're being honest, would they have still wanted it if it were the barren, unpopulated desert that it had been until the Zionists started doing something with it? I'm guessing not, but the narrative that you would be wealthy and have it all, were it not for those thieving (insert bogeyman here) plays just as well with Palestinians as it has with others across the world.

Israel gets nothing from dead Palestinians. Hamas gets an out-sized voice on the global stage that would have otherwise been ignored or scoffed.

Hamas has actually done what no other Islamist group has been able to do-command the attention, support, and praise from a significant segment of the global population-particularly on the left.

That wasn't as much a thing as it may have appeared to be. I have an associate who was a senior executive with a pharm company. The company demanded that everyone get a COVID vaccine. three of the four VPs in her division refused. She kept her job.

I live in Germany. My doctor typically recommends getting a flu vax during the fall, but the last time I was given a COVID vax was in 2021.

Maybe they just do it different over here. I don't even see advertisements at my pharmacy.
