It's certainly not a nation.

With regards to Israel, Friedrich Nietzsche said it best. "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

That's my concern with Israel. I think the Palestinians were once the same way, but over time became the monsters.

Gaza is an, I don't know what Gaza is-certainly not a nation, ruled by vastly more belligerent men.

The same may be true in the West Bank. I'm undecided on who is worse with regards to that community.

The Democrats in New York don't seem to be certain they want him, and he is one of theirs.

I'm just not sure the Mamdani message would resonate with most voters in flyover country.

Don't get me wrong-I don't think the Dems should try and sabotage his campaign. The people of NYC want him, and they should get what they want.

New York is not Dayton or St. Louis or Albuquerque. BL, I don't think that NYCers supporting Mamdani is reflective of a larger, nationwide Democratic party trend towards people like Mamdani. Anymore than AOC is championed as a party leader nationwide.

It looks like nationally, the answer is no. That said, who cares who NYC elects as mayor. Conventional wisdom holds that the city will be worse off based on objective standards, but if that's what they choose, so be it. It will be interesting to observe.

I was listening to the French representative outline why recognition was necessary, and a key part of that recognition is the elimination of Hamas and other groups devoted to the destruction of Israel. The logic in my mind was still a bit far-fetched IMO. It would rely on armed Palestinian forces to disarm and dissolve the Hamas organization. I would put the Palestinian authority in charge of Gaza, but the Palestinian Authority doesn't seem to be very popular or competent, and I don't know how many Gazans are ready to make peace with their Israeli neighbors.

I'm still not a total believer, but the blueprint makes a lot of sense if you can build something with it.

One of my favorite clips I've seen was when Kirk was talking with an Econ major about economists. The only one the kid knew was Keynes.

The FCC doesn't control streaming services. There would be nothing to stop Disney from streaming his program. The FCC controls RF service transmissions...that's it. And I don't know how many people still rely on an antenna to receive TV programming.

Disney has more than enough media options that the government can't threaten if they really thought retaining Kimmel was in their best interest.

Bob Iger once stated that he would have never greenlit the movie "The Interview" because it did not align with the Disney brand. Charlie Kirk was very popular with tens of millions of people. For me, he was the only person in politics that was interesting. You can't see how disparaging Kirk might turn viewers off the brand. There was no reason for Kimmel to say what he said. It was politically driven nonsense that had nothing to do with providing the entertainment that Disney is in the business of doing.
