I catch Colbert, etc clips on Youtube. I've given up on Sports, in general. NIL has ruined college hoops and the pros seem to be there more for the benefit of the gamblers and fantasy sports crowds than even the athletes involved.

I've turned to the CBC and BBC more and more. Domestic networks were always a bit sketchy, but have become completely unreliable.

Progressives wrote the ACA and it's such a failure that it needs to be subsidized. And since it's being subsidized insurance companies are milking it for all it's worth.

The ACA started as a Republican policy in Romney's time as Gov of Mass, further watered down during it's run through Congress as Republicans kept moving the goalposts and, finally, turning on a policy of their own making solely because they couldn't let Dems have a win on anything popular. It was never meant to be more than a step toward something better, just the best that could be done at the time. If "Progressives" had written the bill, the insurance industry would have been cut out, entirely.

I'm reminded of Carlin's line "The US is an oil company with a military.".
The oil companies have never gotten over having their "investments" in Venezuela being nationalized by Chavez and that resentment has been guiding US policy toward them ever since.
Now, we come to the doddering old fool with no impulse control.
