It depends on what's there. People often want the pool, hot tub, weight room, and clubhouse... let's not forget location... location... location. There is a premium on those things. I live in a nice complex that offers nothing but maintenance, landscaping, public wifi, trash pick-up, and security cameras. My HOA is low and fair for those things. One could afford a mortgage on top of it.

Out of my pocket, I pay for my preferred internet, water, electricity, property taxes, and insurance. It seems the further away from utilities and liabilities you can keep them the more stable the fees.

People get all googlie-eyed by costly geegaws they agree to pay for in perpetuity.

as far as Florida... It has an allure like sunbelt states do... great place to brush up on your Espanol... a quality they all seem to have...

That would be the intelligent approach.

My first "learning how to do research" college paper... back in the '70s... before the internet... was about the Sasquatch, Yeti, and Abominable Snowman sightings. The evidence is so sketchy... and yet compelling... because the stories have similar threads even though they occurred at vast distances. They were spotted as far ... from the Himalayas to California which at the time...before drones and satellite surveyance... there were vast areas of uncharted mountainous territories all over the world.

Nowadays it strikes me that if Google satellites can catch an image of my compact car from space... and regular-sized people on the ground...

Actually... this country grew in productivity once we gleaned the cream from all the crops instead of skimming from the B and C stringers from the one crop after the A-liners were chosen... all because of racial prejudice. For so many years good qualified people were accused of being given preference. The proof of their qualifications is demonstrated across all industries with the enormity of our economic growth in the past half-century.

My cats get a ghetto diet of whatever crunchies are on sale and table scraps. I know... left to their own cat devices... they would be eating garbage from dumpsters, carrion, and live rodents or insects from the midden heap. Also having lived very rural... bird flus are pretty common in cats... not just from eating them... but from us humans tracking a lot of bird poop into the house on the soles of our feet.

If you keep a birdfeeder...

I wish I had the immune system of a cat...
