Despite surges in polling, fundraising and volunteers, Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign chair insisted in a memo out Sunday morning that the Democratic candidate remains a "clear" underdog as the 2024 presidential campaign enters its final stages. read more

Casey Michel: From Saudi Arabia to Serbia, despots are cozying up, likely in preparation for a second term. If anything, foreign governments - including brand-new regimes that weren't involved in Trump's first whirlwind in the White House - have only spied new opportunities to burrow into his pockets and into a second administration. read more

Friday, while speaking at a rally in Johnstown, Pa., Donald Trump insisted that his oratory is not a campaign distraction but rather a rhetorical triumph. "You know, I do the weave," he said. "You know what the weave is? I'll talk about like nine different things, and they all come back brilliantly together, and it's like, friends of mine that are, like, English professors, they say, It's the most brilliant thing I've ever seen.'" read more

Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday condemned the altercation that occurred this week at Arlington National Cemetery between Donald Trump campaign staffers and cemetery officials. "Let me be clear: the former president disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt," she wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter. read more

E.J. Dionne Jr.: The truth is that, in a democracy, good policy without successful politics is impossible. This reality was brought home by Vice President Kamala Harris's interview with CNN's Dana Bash on Thursday and it helps explain why the Harris of 2024 is a far better candidate than the Harris who unsuccessfully sought the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. read more

Read this as many times as it takes to penetrate your pointed concrete head:

A 2020 Joe Biden campaign ad featured a May 31, 2010, photo of Biden at Arlington National Cemetery.

The day that Arlington National Cemetery picture was taken, Biden was acting as vice president, delivering a speech and participating in a wreath-laying ceremony.

The ad contained a disclaimer that said the use of Defense Department footage does not imply the endorsement of the U.S. military or the Defense Department.

The public can take photos at Arlington National Cemetery without a release from Arlington or the Army Department. But Arlington National Cemetery's media policy prohibits filming or photographing "if it conveys the impression that cemetery officials or any visitor or family member is endorsing any product, service or organization."

The policy also said the cemetery will not authorize "filming for partisan, political or fundraising purposes," citing 32 Code of Federal Regulations 553 of the Hatch Act. That law says "memorial services and ceremonies at Army National Military Cemeteries will not include partisan political activities."

How can I gaslight when I printed that the photo was used in a political ad which is precisely your point?

Gaslighting is not explaining the context of one thing is NOT LIKE another. You continue to prove that you're incapable of simple reading comprehension beyond that of a petulant child chafed at being put in time out by an exasperated teacher for being a complete buffoon during classroom time.

Now go sit in the corner and stop boring this blog's readers with your insipid stupidity. The two situations are not comparable and only diehard Trumphumpers would ever make such a case if they'd been exposed to the true facts regarding both situations.

The Trump campaign and some family members of the troops killed at Abbey Gate have also suggested that Ms. Harris and Mr. Biden had been invited to the Arlington ceremony along with Mr. Trump. An aide with the Harris campaign said that the vice president had not been invited and pointed to a statement from Ms. Harris that mourned the slain troops on the third anniversary of the bombing last week. A White House official also said that Mr. Biden was not invited.
Don't you have a shred of dignity left that would keep you from reposting lies and disproven political spin to serve the reprobate Trump?

And here's the truth about the 'grieving families' vouching for Trump's non-political spin on Monday's events:

Mr. Trump and his campaign also posted videos from the family members on social media that similarly attacked Ms. Harris and praised Mr. Trump. Some of those family members had defended Mr. Trump's visit to Arlington in previous statements last week, and some family members were also given speaking roles at the Republican National Convention in July where they criticized the Biden administration's handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The statement made no reference to the altercation with the cemetery official, nor the insults directed against her afterward. It also made no mention of concerns by the family of a Green Beret - as well as the Green Beret Foundation, a veterans' charity - about the Trump campaign filming his gravesite. Master Sgt. Andrew Marckesano, who earned Silver and Bronze Stars during his service, died by suicide in 2020. Other family members of troops buried in Section 60 at Arlington have expressed outrage at the incident.

Nope, just like Trump, the family's only concern was with Trump and criticizing Harris for expressing public outrage at the desecration, not the fact that Trump attended the memorial.

Just more lies, and for the record, I never gaslight. I post links to all the information I present, unlike you, or you wouldn't have bothered reposting the lying post that you did above.

It's absolute idiocy to complain about a political process in a political party that you DON'T support. The party decides its rules, not those like you who refuse to even join and try to affect change through the process of selling your ideas to a majority.

There isn't a single Democrat that I'm aware of complaining about the manner in which Kamala was nominated and elected the Party's presidential nominee. The only complainers are those invested in seeing Democrats LOSE, and now their fantasies are blowing up in their faces as Trump decompensates for all the world to see - proving his unfitness for office and his disconnection from reality.

Trump Says His Meandering Speeches Are Brilliant'

Said Trump: "You know, I do the weave. You know what the weave is? I'll talk about like nine different things, and they all come back brilliantly together, and it's like, friends of mine that are, like, English professors, they say, It's the most brilliant thing I've ever seen.'"

What you fail to recognize is that until the GOP returns to nominating sane, non-criminal candidates, every rational American SHOULD vote against the Republicans if we want to keep our democracy, even as flawed as it might be.

[T]he new links between Saudi and Trump go even deeper, stretching into Saudi Arabia's latest foray into foreign investments: golf. Throwing billions of dollars into professional golf - all as a way of transforming Riyadh into a destination of global sports - Saudi backed the recent creation of LIV Golf, the rising competitor to PGA Golf. One of the kingdom's key partners in the new league? Trump, naturally. In early 2024, Riyadh tapped Trump to host LIV Golf tournaments at his own courses - making it "another major source of new revenue for the Trump family."

Indeed, calling all of these Saudi arrangements a major inflow for the Trump brood is an understatement. In one of the most sordid - or swampiest - arrangements seen since Trump departed the White House, Trump's underqualified, underexperienced son-in-law, Jared Kushner, managed to land a $2 billion investment from the Saudis for his brand-new investment firm. Even Saudi officials were at first spooked by the deal, shying away from Kushner's initial proposal. But as the Intercept reported, after officials recommended against the investment, MBS himself stepped in to approve the deal, keen to sink Saudi Arabia's financial claws into Trump's family that much further.

These are just the deals that we know about; given the financial opacity of everything from the American real-estate industry to things like the investment funds Kushner oversees - areas that Biden's Treasury Department is specifically targeting for increased transparency, thankfully - it's entirely possible that there's a world of additional investments, purchases, and arrangements that we still don't know about and that we'll only learn about in years to come.

For Trump, there is no separation between politics and his personal finances, the very thing our Founders tried to anticipate and hoped that voters would avoid when selecting their elected federal public servants.
