Danni, the employer doesn't get to make that determination. If your 'friend' is real, and not a made up meme on bluesky, they can dispute that ruling before an arbitrator. People that are temporarily laid off or have reduced hours can get unemployment insurance payments.

Are you going to argue that we get our money's worth out of the NIH? They did a terrible job with covid. And are you going to argue that the nation as a whole is more healthy now than it was before it's creation? At a minimum they need reform and that doesn't mean more money.

I'd probably care more about getting rid of NIH if they hadn't created a pandemic that killed millions and cause a global economic meltdown.
