Punch victim dies 7 years coma - attacker got .5 yrs prison

Domingo Tapia had been hospitalized, unresponsive, since he was randomly socked in the face as he rode his bike in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in June 2017. The father of two was attacked on Fulton Street, near Albany Avenue, as he rode home from his grocery store job and suffered a fractured skull. The man who punched him was convicted of misdemeanor assault in the case and sentenced to three years, though a friend of the family says he walked out of jail in six months.

Six months in prison for randomly murdering a stranger for kicks. Seems just.

The judge who presided must have realized that causing a person to lapse into coma is potentially causing a death.

Sounds racial.

"Under New York law, it is nearly impossible for prosecutors to charge a defendant who throws a deadly or seriously-injuring punch with harsher crimes than the one for which Anderson served time."

In that case, his sons should track down Gary Anderson and punch him into a coma.

There is no statute of limitations on murder.

Now that the guy he punched has died, he'll probably be arrested for murder.

Wasn't he unarmed though? Wasn't he therefore completely harmless?
