Hamas Drops Key Demand to Accept Phased US Deal

Hamas has given initial approval for a U.S.-backed proposal for a phased cease-fire deal in Gaza, dropping a key demand that Israel give an up-front commitment for a complete end to the war, a Hamas and an Egyptian official said Saturday.

@#5 ... But will he? ...

Probably depends upon whether or not Hamas agrees to a cease fire.

So far, it looks like Hamas is moving in that direction.

So, A Good Thing.

Hamas is losing the backing of ordinary people in Gaza who are paying the human price of its war

I remember when Americans lost their taste for war with Vietnam... only initially they didn't call it a war... because it was easier to frame those who didn't want to do their duty as cowards for not wanting to serve during "peacetime".

Anyway, the men returning called it what it was... a war... and not even our war! They were being used as trained killers of civilians. Some of them got quite good at it... but it's not enough to "win".

Accepting reality is a very powerful tool for making change when you're being ravaged by industrialized military force.

BiBi hopes to hold out until Der Dotard wins the election, at which time all Anti-Israel and Pro-Palestinian protesting will go away, with Trump invoking the insurrection act and hauling all such protesters off to some prison farm. BiBi needs to be 'persuaded' in slightly harsher terms, which I hope Diamond Joe can do...

The death toll in Gaza is at least 186,000.

In just 10 months.

This number has been calculated by The Lancet, a peer-reviewed medical journal.

A recent video circulated where a woman in the Gaza Strip was saying "there are no men left ... they've killed or captured them all."

Now to be clear, wiping out 8% of a population is not just genocidal, but apocalyptic.

Meanwhile the House of Representatives just pushed a bill to make it illegal to share the fatality numbers in Palestine.
