Op-Ed: The Future of FOX News Is Up in the Air

Big changes to the leadership and direction of News Corp and FOX News in particular could result from a major Murdoch family dispute. A court in Reno is currently hearing the case for the opposing Murdoch factions. The battle is over the Murdoch Family Trust, the controlling entity of the Murdoch moneymakers.

... Related voting issues for News Corp are also being addressed by a shareholders' vote. The Trust currently has 41% of the voting shares, and other shares can't vote. The idea is a 1 for 1 vote for all shares, which would completely reconfigure the numerical voting structure. Murdoch only has 14% of the total shares, so numerically, it's a very different environment.

Other stakeholders in News Corp could redirect FOX and News Corp as a whole "to the left". That's a big issue. News Corp is famous for being heavily committed to the right and is the main platform for Trump and other tourists. ...

The other issue is money. In terms of value, distribution, and market reach, FOX in particular is an obvious target for takeovers if the shareholder vote in favor of the new voting rights goes through.

That's not very likely. The shareholder vote can't force a change to voting rights. It's more like a referendum. The Murdochs couldn't possibly be thinking of splitting assets on that scale, unless the Trust fight leads to an impasse.

Murdoch vs Murdoch could be a barroom brawl. To be fair, it's been pretty civilized so far, and nobody in the family is saying much, if anything. It's a "dispute" at this point, not an all-out war.

Rupert and Lachlan are on the right. The others are on the left, whatever that means. Some pundits say that ditching the right would be a marketing disaster for News Corp. ...

Someday, when my life has passed me by
I'll lay around and wonder why you were always there for me
One way, in the eyes of a passerby
I'll look around for another try and fade away

Fox news has done more damage to this country than any muslim terrorist organization.

More families have been split up by fox news than were split up by the civil war.

The Founding Fathers could not possibly anticipated a news organization like Fox Newa nor the power a man like Murdoch has to disrupt democracy on three continents. As I see it we have leaders, trained by Roy Cohn, in the trchniques needed to ignore laws and use the court system to avoid justice But legal authorities are constrained by corrupt judges and courts all the way to the Supreme Court because we are always DHERANT TO THE RULE OF LAW WHICH THE OTHER SIDE LAUGHS AT. sO WE WAIT PATIENTLY FOR SOMEONE TO PRESENT A SOLURION TO THIS CONUNDRUM WHICH PROBABLY DOESN'T LEGALLY EXIST.So then we are confronted with the paramount problem of our time. How can we return our nation to one that is respectful of the rule of law but also capable of fighting back against law breakers who have learned how to avoid justice through postponements and many other delaying taxtics which render our Justice System to be ineffective and virtually powerle'ss to enforce our laws.
Our entire country is now overwhelmed by these unscrupulous parasites dragging a very proud nation down for their own advantage.
So, we are faced with a legal battle which will require dramatic changes in our legal system. We proably need to start at the top by impeaching most of the Supreme Court, very publicly, and with as much puvluc humiliation as possible but, od course we would need big majorities in both houses of Congress to do that so we are going to need a political movement like the Civil Rights movement to bring back real democracy. We would need thousands of people in the streets, maeches in major cities all demanding reform in our justice system and impeachment of Justices who are corrupt pieces of filth. It needs to happen! and it's time we got started. I have some ideas how to do this and one of them would emulate Thomas Paine. We should look to our past to figure out how to effect change today. Read Common Sense" the phamplet that motivated colonists to rebel against the most powerful military in the world, at that time! Our nation has the most powerful military in the world at this time but we are allowing propaganda networks to distort he news and brainwash millions of Americans. And most Americans just shrug and figure there is nothing we can do about it. So we'll just passively let it happen?
That's just so wrong!

Kill it, dismember it.
Stomp its face in the mud...

As vile an entity as ever has been created.
