NOLA Attack Came as Officials Warned of an Escalating Threat

FBI Director Christopher Wray said he feared the Middle East violence could embolden individuals or groups to carry out attacks inside the United States.

Another homegrown terrorist. FBI Director Christopher Wray warned that this is our biggest threat in the United States of America. Donald signaled he would fire Wray, so Wray decided to resign. All of the strategic thinking and information he knew: discarded.

More from the article...

... Following these months of warnings about a resurgent terrorism threat, an Army veteran inspired by IS slammed a pickup truck into crowds celebrating New Year's in New Orleans. But the culprit did not coordinate with international operatives, nor was he part of any broader plot. Instead, he embodied a longstanding concern that snapped into focus in the years after the Sept. 11 attacks and never evaporated: the threat from homegrown extremists who radicalize on their own before committing mass violence in the name of foreign groups.

"I have never seen the threat landscape this worrying, not just from a counterterrorism perspective but from state-sponsored threats," said Christopher Costa, a former career intelligence officer and senior director for counterterrorism at the White House National Security Council in the first Trump administration. ...

They were too busy investigating parents who got testy at school board meetings, abortion protesters, Catholics and J6 violators who were waived in by Capitol police, walked around for 15 minutes and then left.

That's way more important than keeping tabs on probable terrorists.

@#2

But more to the point of the thread, I would have gone with ...

With the warnings that the FBI had issued, why did New Orleans not choose to use vehicle-blocking barriers?

Vehicle attacks are difficult to prevent -- but New Orleans fell short, experts say
www.nbcnews.com

... The city has 700-pound steel barriers but did not put them on Bourbon Street until a day after the attack, which the lieutenant governor called "a complete failure of responsibility." ...

I don't jump through hoops to provide information on topics that are well known and are recent.

If I said, "2 assissinations were attempted" against Trump you'd probably ask the same question.

#5 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-01-04 09:27 PM

There were zero assassination attempts on Trump.

One was a photo op and the other was some dude in a parking lot.

You'll have to search through some QAnon conspiracy theories to find just what that idiot is bringing up.

As for the content of this article.

I couldn't image more fearmongering would be possible.

There was no way to know this event would have occurred.

Could they have put up the rails as a precaution? Yes.

But the idea that there was any specific warnings about what happened is absurd.

No hoops presented to jump through.

Just a simple question.

And your current alias has nothing.

He can't substantiate the nonsense he posted.

He's just summing up things the FBI has investigated during the Biden administration which he feels are unacceptable.

Like holding insurrectionists accountable for their insurrection.

@#10 ... He can't substantiate the nonsense he posted. ...

Yeah. That has become quite evident.

But it is good to know that I am not the only person who sees that.

Unrelated, but just popped up on a playlist here.

A fun country tune from Tennessee ...

BR5-49 - Me 'n' Opie (Down by the Duck Pond) (Live at Robert's Western World, Nashville, TN - January 1996)

Lyrics excerpt ...

...
[Spoken Intro]
Well, it looks like it's twelve-midnight, ladies and gentlemen.
Is that right?
Y'all know what that means: it's time to tell you the true story, all about the lost episode of The Andy Griffith Show.
It's a particularly heinous story about drug abuse and sexual deviance.
Looks like it's right up your alley.

[Chorus]
Don't tell Andy, don't tell Aunt Bee
They will come a-lookin' for Opie and me
Tell 'em we're dead or tell 'em we're gone
Me and Opie down by the duck pond

This thread looks more like a failed attempt to normalize the use of the Escalator by hate groups in the US.

@#13 ... This thread looks more like ...

Still trying with the unsubstantiated assertions.

I do have to give your current alias credit for its determination.

It's become absolutely pointless to try and have a discussion with him.

It's a bit of a surprise that MAGA dumfux haven't blamed Ray Epps for this attack yet.

You keep referring to "QAnon conspiracy theories" but all the while claim that the Secret Service allowed two people to die for a photo op.
