Warnings may Signal Legal Blueprint to Attack 'sanctuary' Jurisdictions

The ominous letters went to hundreds of state and local officials across the U.S. two days before Christmas.

Stephen Miller's call to cut funding for sanctuary cities like NYC ignores the real costs of immigration. NYC spent $3.75B on migrant services in 2024 but got only $237M from the feds. Punitive measures won't fix a broken system--comprehensive reform will.

"Immigration 'sanctuary' jurisdictions

Hundreds of local and state governments do not notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) before releasing noncitizens in their custody or hold them until ICE officers can take them into custody.

These "sanctuary" jurisdictions say they are simply limiting their enforcement of immigration laws without a judge's order. Courts have repeatedly upheld the legality of most sanctuary laws."

"The fact that Miller was arguing for the seating of fraudulent electors and overturning the legitimate results of the 2020 election is rich, considering how often he'd spewed baseless claims of allegedly sketchy activities by immigrants, or fake claims that federal agencies tasked with adjudicating immigration paperwork, including naturalization applications, were brimming with fraud."

Well, that does seem to be a more efficient use of his time.

Like how Trump skips the courting process and goes directly to haggling when he purchases his wives.

Call their bluff and counter sue in a local (I.e., friendly) federal court before these goons run to Judge Cannon or the solo judge in Amarillo.

My child in Chicago reports the local alderman has sent out messages warning residents and telling them what do do (don't answer the door) and what to say(warrant, please!). Fight them like the British in 1939 and 1940 ...
