The man-child who cried tariffs.

"Trump once again appears to be offering a lot of hype and little action"

Trump is frightened and so he dithers.

Nothing boosts economic confidence like a madman who changes his mind on tariffs every day!

Liberating America from democracy is hard werk!

It's beyond annoying when The Hard Charger in Chief starts wetting his pants over the things he's bragged about.

Just make up your mind, Donald. We already know that you're going to screw things up.

Like I wrote in a different thread about Trumpf's elocution on answering questions: "Humble-mumble-chumble." This time it's about the tariffs.

He's a ------- idiot.

The pattern is predictable....

1. Announce tariffs.

2. Markets tumble.

3. His cronies buy in.

4. Retreat on tariffs.

5. Markets rebound.

6. The cronies sell off.

7. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Most

Ever.

Now, with the over-the-top pomp scheduled for "Liberation Day, it is beginning to also look like an attempt to deflect attention away from SignalGate.

No point in making it a federal holiday. Most federal employees have been on a paid vacation (sponsored by the American taxpayer) since Trumpy took office.

Trump's policy regarding tariffs is similar to his policy was about shutting down for COVID. It was a lot of flip-flopping between shutdown or no shutdown, and we shutdown just long enough to screw over the economy, small business, people's jobs, and supply chains, but not long enough to have any effect death or spread of the disease.

Similarly, Trump craters the stock market by threatening tariffs only to backtrack long before any benefits from the tariffs take hold (which would take decades).

It's all a bunch of pain for absolutely no gain.

What an actual LIBERATION DAY would look like:

Abolishing the Federal Reserve.

Abolishing the FBI, NSA, CIA, etc.

Abolishing the Income Tax.

Repealing the Patriot Act.

Repealing FISA.

Repealing Citizen's United and banning SuperPACs.

Impeaching rogue judges from the bench.

Making VoterID, same-day voting, election audits, signature verification and citizenship mandatory for all elections.

Banning mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting.

Banning COVID mRNA injections.

Removing liability protections for corrupt pharmaceutical corporations.

Abolishing all foreign aid.

Abolishing corporate subsidies.

Bringing the troops home to defend America's borders.

Deporting all illegal immigrants.

Banning all foreign and domestic lobbying.

Banning dual citizens from holding public office.

Prosecuting every politician and Federal Reserve member guilty of insider trading.

Prosecuting everyone involved in the Crimes Against Humanity committed during COVID.

Prosecuting everyone involved in the Jeffrey Epstein blackmail operation.

Prosecuting everyone involved in the J6 operation.

Prosecuting everyone involved in censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story.

Prosecuting everyone involved in facilitating the summer riots in 2020.

Prosecuting everyone in the Biden family who subverted American interests for financial gain.

Prosecuting CA politicians for their criminal negligence during the Palisades fire.

Publishing the list of every Congressperson who has settled sexual assault cases with taxpayer funds.

Releasing all the declassified and unredacted documents related to 9/11, JFK's assassination, MLK's assassination, RFK's assassination, and the murder of Seth Rich.

Banning all the harmful chemicals and pesticides in the American food system.

Banning geoengineering.

Eliminating government interference and regulations written by insurance companies in the healthcare industry.

And ... replacing everyone in Congress with a few notable exceptions.

What did I miss?

Of course, there was no plan of how any of this is going to work. As of noon EST today, they are still trying to figure out what the hell the actual "plan" is!

Never let a crisis of your own making go to waste!

#17 | Posted by snoofy at 2025-04-02 02:23 PM

Well they waited for the markets to close for the day before they made their announcement so you couldn't watch them tank with each new tariff he announced.

20% on EU

34% on China

46% on Vietnam

24% on Japan

...couldn't watch them tank with each new tariff he announced.

He'll probably backpedal on most of them before the weekend.

#19 | Posted by REDIAL at 2025-04-02 04:55 PM

They are just making up numbers with currency manipulation and trade barriers to justify the tariffs. China doesn't have a 67% tariff on US goods.

#20 | Posted by Sycophant at 2025-04-02 05:24 PM

So, largest tax increase in history.

Thanks magat scum

How did he come up with these stupid numbers, by throwing three darts at a board and adding up the score? Inflation is about to go through the roof. Example, almost all clothing is made in these tariff targeted Asian countries, because NOBODY in America is willing to work for the kind of wages that allows Puma to sell tee shirts for ten bucks at their outlet stores. So, now thanks to tariffs Puma will charge $14, congratulations you just paid a $4 Dotard tax. You'll still buy the tee because you can't match the price elsewhere, but Puma won't move a factory to the US, because aside from the massive outlay for setting one up, good luck finding workers, and the cost to produce those same tees would be closer to $20 or more before the profit margin was built in. Prior to the coming Trumpcession, we were at 4% unemployment, the workers don't exist in this country to make everything we consume, and some things such as certain fruits and vegetables cannot be grown here. Without a doubt Combover Quisling is the stupidest man to EVER occupy the WH and one of the most evil. This has to be a record, same POTUS, two financial crises completely of his making.

"Example, almost all clothing is made in these tariff targeted Asian countries"

I remember vaguely when garment manufacturing died in this country, when I was a kid. They ran ads, look for the union label. Republicans killed the unions to facilitate the redistribution of wealth upwards.

To be fair, the liability for giving all those low paid workers lung disease from airborne cotton particles was also a financial crisis of the industry's own making from which the industry probably could not escape. More on the science that shows how American corporations were harmimg American workers here:

All of us will be paying a "Trump tax" so he and his wealthy cohorts can keep their first term Trump tax cuts, and Trump's deficits won't be $3 trillion a year because tariffs go into the government coffers. We all end up paying more for everything.

Trump couldn't care less about further gutting 90% of Americans so the top 10% can hoard even more money they don't need.

Moving even more wealth from 90% of us to the top 10%, who've gotten the majority of benefit from his tax cuts. That's all it is.

#24 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2025-04-02 06:23 PM

I am reading that Trump has imposed tariffs on territories with no human populations and with which we have no trade.

Never tell me that this man isn't insane ever again.

I think Israel also popped up on the tariffs list until ethnic cleaner Beelzebub Smotrich fixed that: www.timesofisrael.com
