The LAPD seemed to be well on the way to controlling and stopping the small riots in a couple-square-block area of LA well before Pres Trump intervened.

But, Pres Trump used the situation to issue a wide-ranging order to deploy the National Guard and, subsequently, the Military, in LA.

And do note, the order has no geographic boundaries.

Why?

Because of the situation in LA?

Nah.

He apparently just wanted the power to deploy troops anywhere in the US he wants to.

And that is where we (i.e., Americans) are now.

If Pres Trump does not like what we do, he will deploy troops against us to force us to comply with his wishes.

It's just for morale. After being ordered to harass citizens in their own city troop morale was waning a bit. The troops really do seem to enjoy gathering around the burning the piles of marijuana. It relaxes them.
