... The Department of Homeland Security said agents were conducting immigration enforcement operations near 26th Street and Kedzie Avenue when an unknown man driving a black Jeep fired shots at agents and drove off.

DHS further alleges a group of people also threw a paint can and bricks at Border Patrol's vehicle. The Chicago Police Department was called in for help and cleared the scene.

CPD said their officers were sent to the 2500 block of South Kedzie Avenue for reports of shots fired at federal agents. Officers secured the scene and there are no reports of anyone hit by gunfire.

One police officer, however, was accidentally hit by a GMC pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old woman. The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital in good condition, while the woman was issued two citations, according to CPD.

The suspect who reportedly fired shots at the agents and the Jeep he was driving have not been found.

Those who live in the area, however, are accusing federal agents of being aggressive.

@#1 ... When we arrived here, there was an 11-year-old little girl dragged by these masked individuals ...

And, if I may ask, did those individuals doing the dragging show their badges or identify themselves?

If not, how is an American citizen to know if a person exhibiting similar behavior is an ICE agent or just a common criminal?

What is the distinction?
