Young Men Are Turning Against MAGA and Trump

[Rep] Greene's farewell is only the latest evidence of the fissures that are beginning to appear in Trump's coalition. The party has also been riven by debate over the antisemitic turn of Tucker Carlson ...

The media doesn't treat the Trump regime's allegiances with neo-Nazis like Nick Fuentes as antisemitism, but Zohran's belief in Palestinian liberation is treated as antisemitism. It's completely backwards and insane. Zohran will protect American Jews; the fascists will target American Jews.

More from the article ...

... Trump declared this month, "I know what MAGA wants better than anybody else." But there is a growing feeling that the movement itself is up for grabs. Multiple factions are all laying claim to Trump's mantle: America Firsters like Greene, groypers like Fuentes, and provocateurs like Carlson, to name just a few.

In many ways, this battle is really an ideological struggle for the hearts and minds of young men -- a key demographic that swung hard for Trump in 2024, fueled by a potent mixture of political disillusionment and economic dissatisfaction.

Since then, these resentments appear to have metastasized, with manifestations ranging from simple frustration at Trump's broken promises to the embrace of antisemitic and racist views among young party operatives, and the elevation of extremists like Fuentes. Other members of this constituency appear to be swinging back toward Democrats.

As my colleague Peter Hamby recently documented, in this month's elections, men under 30 broke for Dems by double digits in exit polls in Virginia (+14 for Abigail Spanberger), New Jersey (+10 for Mikie Sherrill), and, of course, New York City (+40 for Zohran Mamdani) and California (+52 for Prop 50). ...

They aren't turning against Trump so much, but Boomers in general.

They feel Boomers are selfish.

@#2 ... They aren't turning against Trump so much, but Boomers in general. ...

Nah, they seem to be turning against Pres Trump.

Their opinion of Boomers may be little more than collateral damage, because Pres trump is who they elected. Not the Boomers.

Do try harder.

In New York, New Jersey, and California?

LOL ... ..that's not evidence they've done anything yet.

I believe it's possible they are. I just don't think those elections are much evidence of it.

Browns -- The Old Lamplighter (1960)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt ...

genius.com

...
He made the night a little brighter
Wherever he would go
The old lamplighter
Of long, long ago

His snowy hair was so much whiter
Beneath the candle glow
The old lamplighter
Of long, long ago

You'd hear the patter of his feet
As he came toddling down the street
His smile would hide a lonely heart you see
If there were sweethearts in the park
He'd pass a lamp and leave it dark
Remembering the days that used to be

For he recalls when dreams were new
He loves someone who loves him too
Who walks with him alone in memory
He made the night a little brighter
Wherever he would go
The old lamplighter of long, long ago

Now if you look up at the sky
You'll understand the reason why
The little stars at night are all aglow
He turns them on when night is here
He turns them off when dawn is near

The little man we loved of long ago
night a little brighter
Wherever he would go
The old lamplighter
Of long, long ago...
...

#2 Yeah. Boomers are selfish.

You have the DNA of boomers in you, if not directly then, at most, once or twice removed.

And just look how you turned out, onepigironheadedsmoothbrainaut.

You exhibit absolute selfishness.

It is your heredity; embrace it.

Such wishful thinking.

Democrats literally hate men and think everything about them is "toxic"

Re 9

You would have to admit they can be if you've ever been in a men's locker room. Yes, men can be pretty "toxic".

But I do like men. Some of my best friend are actually men.

So I like them well enough.

Just not the way you and Bill Johnson do.

Apparently.
