New Senate Bill Seeks to Outlaw Dual Citizenship

Today, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) introduced the Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025 to establish that citizens of the United States must have sole and exclusive allegiance to the United States.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, just introduced a bill to ban Americans from holding dual citizenship. The bill says that to "preserve the integrity of national citizenship, allegiance to the United States must be undivided." It's called the Exclusive Citizenship Act.

So the way this works is my mother was a Canadian citizen when I was born, but as I was born in the Untied States, I did not automatically qualify for Canadian citizenship at the time. (Nor would I have had much use for it. That's changed, thanks to Republicans.)

I don't like being called a "Lost Generation" of Canadian though.

That term should be reserved for the countless thousands of indigenous people who were geocoded and ethnically cleansed by the White European Colonialists (people like me).
