Kentucky Republican legislator Shane Baker (R-Somerset) wants to limit eligibility for almost all elected offices in Kentucky to only natural-born US citizens.
Some Kentucky Republicans want to ban naturalized Americans from holding public office, as the GOP drives ever-further into xenophobia. www.lpm.org/news/2026-01 ...

"Amend KRS 67.060, 83A.040, 160.180, and 262.240, to require a candidate for county commissioner, city mayor, city legislative body member, board of education member, and soil and water conservation district supervisor to be a natural born citizen of the United States and no other country and a national of only the United States in order to hold each respective office."
This "No-Nothing" xenophobic poison will spread to other state legislatures through the sinister ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) which will make hatemongers like Randy "The Hebrew Ham Sandwich" Fine (R-FL), Islamophobe Laura Loomer, disgraced ex-NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo, NYS gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman (R-Nassau County), shyster Alan "I kept my underwear on" Dershowitz, and AIPAC happy. They despise Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani and wish to prevent more progressives, non-whites, Muslims, or Arab-Americans from attaining political office in the US.
