The skies roared with Israeli fighter jets, pummeling Gaza City with bombs that lit the night and grayed the day in dust. Eman Abusaeid, her husband and their children were jolted out of sleep, their faces covered in debris from an Israeli airstrike on their neighbor's home.

Honestly, this is no way to wage war unless you are fine with being a monster. I understand they are fighting a monster. This is a Gaza story but I have a family member from Lebanon and several friends from there as well.

They kept saying "Oh look, it is fine in Lebanon. See everyone is safe it's only in the far south." Then when Israel started to launch their attack on "Hezbollah" in southern Lebanon and Beirut things changed. And they didn't limit their strikes to the south or Hezbollah areas. One friend lost 3 cousins in their Christian town and their father's home was partially destroyed when a bomb hit across the road. No Hezbollah, No Sympathizers and No Weapons. Another, a firefighter, died in Beirut responding to the destruction and hit by a bomb.

The whole time I am saying Beirut to Israel is only about 80 miles in a straight line... They seemed almost flip about it until now. Showing us pictures and saying how safe Beirut was. "It will be fine, they just want to rough Hezbollah up a bit and Hezbollah isn't here." "They are used to war there, they will be fine." Then they were scrambling to get family out of Lebanon and back to the US.

I haven't rubbed it in and I won't, all I can do is shake my head.
