Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

USSECDEF Pete Hegseth has "lost the trust and respect" of several top military members, thanks in large part to his "grandstanding" public appearances. While many of Hegseth's changes have been embraced, like his push for tougher fitness standards, the former TV tumor's approach has been off-putting to many military members. "The theater of it all is below our institution," one officer said. "Several of these changes are being made already by the services. And they could be made by any secretary ... They don't have to be announced on stage in public in this grandstanding kind of way." The officer was referring to Hegseth's boring televised speech to top commanders at Quantico last month. That screed irritated generals and admirals in the audience. "It was a massive waste of time," another Army general said. "If he ever had us, he lost us." Another senior officer quipped that Hegseth is focused on "not serious things."

All of the military branches have seen a surge in enlistments this year, but this is masking another problem: the resignation or early retirements of many top generals; more than a dozen other senior generals and admirals have been fired since the dipsomaniac took office in January. The racist misogynist's focus on a "color-blind color- and gender-blind meritocracy is at odds with reality" at the Pentagon, chimed a general. "Across the services, we are bleeding talent, talented generals and flag officers, for what appears to be the opposite of a meritocracy," said one officer. "There are people being held back from promotions, or being fired, or removed for sometimes unknown reasons, often for favoritism, or just simple relationships." Congregating the entire DOD leadership at one location at one time at Quantico in the nuclear age was a tremendously risky program, as well as an expensive one. Pentagon officials were also monitored to ensure they watched Pete Hegseth's idiotic ramble. US Army CID Agents are protecting several of Hegseth's private properties, at the cost of investigating felony crimes committed within the US Army. Hegseth, who spends some of his work hours at the Pentagon chapel, was confirmed by a tie-breaking vote (51-50) from VPOTUS Empty Suit JD Vance, one of the worst Senatorial confirmations in US history.
