The most innocent clues can sometimes help crack a case. The objects [you will see] are all taken from the background of an image with sexually explicit material involving minors. For all images below, every other investigative avenue has already been examined. Therefore, EUROPOL requests your assistance in identifying the origin of some of these objects. We are convinced that more eyes will lead to more leads and will ultimately help to save these children.

Established in 2017 by EUROPOL, the Stop Child Abuse " Trace an Object initiative has yielded the following results:
Almost 28,000 tips have been sent in via the general public;
Investigators were able to narrow down a country in 131 instances;
34 children, victims of child sexual abuse, have been identified and removed from harm;
Eight offenders have been identified and prosecuted.

The Australian Federal Police Stop Child Abuse initiative focuses on the Asia Pacific region. Their images can be viewed here accce.gov.au.

The FBI similarly posts requests for assistance in identifying either suspects or victims.
