The D.C. Superior Court has dismissed a breach of contract lawsuit against Chuck Redd after the musician backed out of a scheduled 2025 Christmas Eve performance at the Kennedy Center. Redd backed out of the performance in protest of Trump's effort to rename the center after himself. The court found the suit brought against Redd violated DC's Anti-SLAPP law which blocks meritless lawsuits intended to silence political views.
