Curious as to why Barrett recused herself. She didn't give a reason.

Although she didn't give a reason, Barrett is close friends with the Notre Dame Law School professor who was an early legal adviser to the Catholic Church in Oklahoma.

Okay,
I know Notre Dame is a Catholic school and she's a graduate. Does that really create a conflict of interest in this case?
It probably doesn't but I can see how it could be perceived as a conflict so if this is her reason for recusal I at least sort of get the rationale
