Reflection of the Rise of Anti-Immigrant Politics
Especially interesting that 'remigration' is being popularized in a nation that was built on immigration. But quite apparently, for the current regime of bigots, immigration is only acceptable if the immigrants aren't POC.

The current administration while embracing the corporate culture that abuses labor and consumers to fuel their greed driven desires have found an easy target to place the blame on...immigrants. Immigrants are stealing your jobs, they are taking all the government benefits, they are simultaneously stealing all the good paying jobs WHILE collecting unemployment, welfare and medicaid.
The working class, decimated by decades of supply side policies that keep wages stagnant WHILE businesses shift more and more of health care and retirement costs onto the workers further eroding their paychecks causing them to fall further and further into debt are so desperate for relief they will believe ANYONE who says the problem is easily solved via expelling foreigners.
Immigrants are the low hanging fruit that is supposed to increase wages and create jobs for the low skill workforce that is drowning in a sea of high prices and low wages.
When voters are polled and asked "Who wants manufacturing to return to the US?" 80% say yes. When the same voters are asked "Who wants to work in a factory?" 20% say yes.
There is the disconnect.
Voters say farming and manufacturing are the cornerstones to American prosperity, but few if any want to pick tomatoes, lettuce or build widgets for $29 per hour let alone compete with China's minimum wage of $3.70 per hour.
The decomposing tangerine's tariffs have killed manufacturing jobs here in the US instead of increasing them with over 100,000 jobs lost since stinky was sworn in.
The myth that republic*nts are better for the economy is on par with the myth that tax cuts trickle down.

I suspect there might be a similar disconnect if the poll's questions were:
- - - Do we need farm workers in the field for farmers to be successful?
- - - Would you want to work in the farm fields?
