... Jason Michael DeGray, 42, of Windsor Locks, was on vacation with his family at the time, Meagan DeGray said. The father of three had gone into the water to save his 12-year-old son, and as soon as his son stepped out of the water to safety, the rip current pulled the father backwards, she said.

"He was a hero and an amazing dad and partner," Meagan DeGray said.

Police released Jason Micahel DeGray's name Tuesday, one week after the accident, which also killed a woman from Ohio who was not related to the DeGrays: Ebony Mount, 34, went into the water to help Jason Michael DeGray save his son, Bryce DeGray, and also got caught in the rip current, Meagan DeGray said. ///
