We heard far more about Hell than Heaven in the evangelical church I grew up in. It's mostly a construction that followed the publication of Dante's Inferno. The Church saw a golden opportunity to keep their members in fear. Hell, they didn't even allow masses in native languages until the 1960's, so cunning were they.
