That's almost self-contradictory, since it has been, and still is, the MAGA supporters who want the Epstein files released.
imo, The GOP saw that contradiction, and reacted to it be putting their tail between their legs and recessing Congress early.
So, now this will likely drag out until September and beyond because Pres Trump seems to be powerless to quell it.

MAGAts aren't a unified block, other than their allegiance to Trump. Some will be shaken by proof that Trump is a pedo, a large portion will not. And that portion loyal to Trump will be more than enough to sink the GOP's electoral prospects. Which means that Trump has zero to fear from the victims. The legislative branch won't remove him, the GOP won't abandon him, and the SCOTUS won't allow his prosecution (oh wait,that's redundant with "the GOP won't abandon him).
