Yeah, I know. Get ready for the new story to hit national news. Some right wing You Tuber has posted a video about daycare fraud in MN (committed by Somalis, of course.) Trouble is that daycare fraud has also been reported on for years by MPR. He posted a video of going to these daycare facilities and showing there are no kids, but no time stamp on the video. He likely went outside their hours of operation, and several of them closed 2 years ago.

But he got the attention of Vance and Kash Patel, so coming soon to the nation.

Lamplighter, that timeline post was from 2022. So much more has happened in this case. I think the numbers of indicted individuals in now over 90. It started in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. It has been reported on endlessly here in MN. I get frustrated by people reporting on this like it is new.

Well, since the FBI was involved in investigating the fraud in MN, and no one in Ilhan Omar's family was charged by the FBI, I think someone is making much ado about nothing. She did receive some contributions from some of the Somalis indicted and promptly returned those donations when it was discovered that they were part of the fraud.

#44 Yes, that is the timeline post I was referring to. I was going off memory on the dates in my comment (#39), seems I was off by about a year. I just remember the investigation has been going on for a long time.

So I ask of Oneironaut, BillJohnson and any other R poster looking to score points against MN Gov Walz to clink on the link in Lamplighter's post #44 and educate yourself so you don't look so foolish in the future. I know it is a lot to ask, as you folks must really enjoy that "Poorly Educated" moniker that Trump has attached to you.

PS If Gov Walz was involved in this scheme in any way, I am sure the FBI would have uncovered it and he would have been charged accordingly.

#37 Aimee Bock, the white woman who organized this fraud scheme, was not an employee of the state of MN, so how would Gov Walz know what she was up to? She had a charitable organization that she used to commit the fraud. She originally had a partner, but they split. The old partner was the person who originally reported the suspected fraud. Geez, you really need to work on your critical thinking skills, or at least learn how to use Google.

MN resident here. This is the same story that has been reported on for weeks. I presented a timeline of events. Suspected fraud was reported in 2021. The state stopped paying some of the entities making claims. A judge (appointed by former (R) Governor Tim Pawlenty) ruled there wasn't enough evidence of fraud yet and to resume payments. The FBI was brought in late 2021 and people were arrested and charges were filed in early 2022.

The organizer of this fraud scheme was Aimee Bock (a white woman) who recruited the Somalians to participate. Aimee Bock (the white woman) was one of the first to be tried (and convicted) in March of this year. Did I mention she is white? I just want to make sure everyone gets the story straight, the organizer of this fraud scheme was a white woman named Aimee Bock, as this is the 4th time I have corrected this story on this site.

So please free free to copy and paste the above when the next foolish person starts yet another post of this event.

#8 In San Diego I was one of five cars in an accident on I-5 because spun out on the on ramp. They lost control of the car because of a freak weather event called "rain."

I remember the first heavy rain caused so many accidents because of the oil on the highways. And LYD, I DO know what you mean. I used to commute in a car pool, they were the worst in the HOV lanes.

Here in MN I stay off the highways after the first snow. I remember seeing 11 spinouts on a 3 mile stretch of highway on my way home from work one day. From then on I would take the side streets home on snow days. It took me nearly the same amount of time, but I avoided the crazy drivers. Retired now, so don't have to drive during Rush Hour.

Not surprising about MN. I grew up and learned to drive in CA, but goodness knows that MN drivers just cannot figure out how to zipper merge. Every year there is another news story on how to zipper merge, but many drivers still cannot figure it out. They just don't want to let you enter the traffic flow, so traffic stops.
