He ran on incredibly poplar, progressive policies and won.

He ran on taxing the rich, and won.

He had the DNC and GOP and several billionaires fighting desperately to get Andrew Cuomo elected and beat them.

The problem isn't progressive policies or taxing the rich.

The problem is both parties are owned by the rich.

It's sad how republicans run on the policy of, "---- you we're only helping billionaires", nationwide and still win.

Whereas Democrats can't even run on popular policies like nationwide healthcare or education, because the DNC won't allow them to.

In fact, the lesson of NYC last November is if Democrats campaign on issues that resonate in their communities, they'll win.

As for those people, you'll have to ask the voters of their states what they want. As for me, I live in Los Angeles, California and we're chock full of democratic politicians.

The state is outrageously expensive and homelessness is rampant. But the weather is fantastic.

Only when the Democratic Party has a stranglehold on power in Washington can there ever be a chance to have more Bernies, AOCs and Mamdanis.
