All this does bring up the question of who do politicians answer to? If Congress passes a law that mandates an administration release certain files...does the President have to follow the law? Should ask the Supreme Court if their mandates are actually law if no one will enforce them, as in no one in the Trump gang.

Having watched America elect a clear fascist twice, I have little faith in the future of American democracy.

If the Dems take back the House, one expects fairly soon a subpoena to get a clue as to Trump's grifting when he was in office. One expects that subpoena not to be successful as the very rich own enough of Congress to forestall all attempts at clarity.
Actually, I figure if Trump ever faces real legal trouble, war will break out and that legal trouble will be hidden away. Problem is, they need someone in Iran, or a group of someones, to attack Americans, like Hamas attacked Jews in Israel.
