The NG assisted local PD during Katrina response. Again, that is something that I don't deny has happened and it has always been at the request and in cooperation with local/state government.

Restricting access to specific sites isn't closing off the entire city.

Where have some of the most poignant protests taken place in our nation's history? The National Mall. The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The Washington Monument.

They're not going to let that happen.

Blue Cities.

He'd then point to D.C. as an example of what other states should do, or they should let the Federal Government do it (Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, etc.). Keep in mind about 40% of Americans are favorable towards fascism or authoritarianism.

I don't think DC will be closed off either. Just heavily controlled with movement through set up (ie predictable) avenues.

They want to know who's there and, if possible, where they're going and what they're doing.
