The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Tuesday the recall of nearly 20 million eggs produced in Texas due to fears over Salmonella. The FDA says Midwest Poultry Services issued the voluntary recall of almost 1.6 million dozens of white-shell, brown-shell eggs and cage-free eggs "because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis." The eggs were produced and distributed from Texas farms beginning June 6 and ending July 3, with sell-by dates ranging from July 20 through August 17.
A congressional candidate from Louisiana who was the subject of a police report accusing him of rape " which he denies " says he is hoping to again "earn" Donald Trump's endorsement as he considers precisely where to run amid redistricting. The candidate, Blake Miguez, is weighing running in one of two districts, neither of which he lives in but in which he is allowed to run. He has been mulling that choice after the supreme court's landmark decision in Callais v Louisiana prompted the state to swiftly redraw its US House districts " and after he had secured the president's backing under the previous congressional map. Miguez's campaign has also had to grapple with an Atlantic report that he had not disclosed to Trump's team the existence of a 2007 rape accusation reported to local law enforcement on the same day of the alleged assault.
A Pentagon website has removed the names of four U.S. service members killed in Donald Trump's war with Iran from its list of casualties. The Defense Casualty Analysis System, a Defense Department website that keeps track of those killed during Operation Epic Fury, currently has a tally of seven "hostile" and seven "non-hostile" casualties, for a total of 14. But that's four less than the number of deaths the site had listed on Wednesday, The New York Times reported. Yet three military officials told the Times that one reason for the change was because the troops' deaths took place after Trump declared a cease fire in April.
