Cannabis can be laced with fentanyl. Just like other drugs, especially cocaine. One of the issues starts with the fact that fentanyl clumps up so one person hitting a line of coke might get a clump of fentanyl along with it that other people partaking won't.

Either they complete the investigation using the list as evidence leading to a conclusion and arrests or they release the list for the court of public opinion to deal with. Since they already gave up on the former, only the latter is left. Trump and his DOJ chose this route, now innocent people will have to suffer consequences unless they can prove their innocence.

We shouldn't bury our collective head in the sand on this. If there's evidence Bill Clinton abused children, he deserves prison. Either Biden didn't release the list to protect folks like Bill Clinton or he didn't release the list because it was part of an ongoing investigation into a wider criminal enterprise. Possibly both are true. At least Biden didn't push his DOJ to drop the investigation like Trump's DOJ did. That in and of itself is suspicious, IMO.

But does a list provide that opportunity?
