I am a gun owner - yet, others get to decide what I am able to own despite it being explicit in the Bill of Rights as the courts want to protect public safety.

It is the same argument with voting - allowing illegals to vote disenfranchise my vote by diluting it with ineligible votes. Hence, the same public safety argument should be applied to ID for voting OR all restrictions on gun ownership should be lifted. The 2 cannot co-exist and the courts should fix the problem.
