But the real question is, what do you do that assumption, that serves as a foundation for further wisdom?

And I don't find any wisdom in thinking Saturn is there because someone designed it. And the reason for that is simply parsimony. Let's say I assume someone built Saturn. The planet not the car. That assumption doesn't shed any light on anything important, like why did they design it?

When you see the planet Saturn, what is your assumption?

Do you assume that it was the result of hundred of billions of years of molecular shenanigans in a mindless process, or do you assume there was a planet designer and builder?

Some things I know that you are okay with.

"We are stardust" from the Woodstock song is literally true. That's where the material around us comes from. Burned up stars. To get elements heavier than iron, which are required for life, stars have to go supernova. The biology and the physics can't be denied on this front.

We're here because stars have been forming and burning out or exploding for thousands of billions of years. And there's not really a sensible argument against this, and like a Library of Alexandria in support. At the bare minimum, that's where all the stuff comes from.

So, the billions of years is there. And the unguided mindless process can be shown to do the same kinds of things over and over again when you start with the basic ingredients, stir it up, and let it cook a few billion years.

I can't imagine I'll ever go on a big cruise ship like this, it just doesn't much appeal to me.

Still, I think I'd take my odds on this one over the Poop Cruise.
