I agree. Trump's idea of being "presidential" is to copycat Putin's strongman image. However, I don't know of any Nobel Prize winning dictators who had Trump's maladjusted sociopathic need to hurt and destroy to make himself feel like he's the king of the world and someone to be feared.

Although on a much smaller scale, it has worked on Congress. He has them shaking in their shoes and looking for a work-around.

One has to wonder these days. Where's the Second Amendment Solution when we need it?

I think that we've all forgotten that Trump is still sick with jealousy over President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize (2009) and is hellbent on a one-upmanship.

It's not JUST for a photo-op or a distraction. It's more like a testing ground for when Trump generates an "emergency" in one or more blue states in order to derail the 2026 mid-term in those states indefinitely and thus secure his majority in the House.

Johnson nearly gave away the scam when he stated (ever so confidently) that the House would gain seats in 2026.

As for the legality of what he's doing in California right now, I seriously doubt the U.S. Supreme Court will come to the rescue. Trump is looking to set a precedent for his plans to stagecraft even more violent uprisings prior to the 2026 mid-terms during which time the House will be missing crucial Democrat Representatives.

Congress has to make a decision before the mid-terms:

Who is the GOP more afraid of? Trump's badmouthing . . . or losing Musk's financial support if they vote for Trump's spending bill?

What started out as a 'wink and a nod' reciprocity agreement between Putin and Trump to help Trump get elected and thus become a partner to grease the skids for Putin to conquer Ukraine enroute to an invasion of Eastern Europe has run smack-dab into Trump's insatiable ego which has made it nigh impossible for either side to give an inch.

Meanwhile, daylight is burning.

I can't disagree with that. I watched his budget hearing and he seemed clueless. antsy, defensive, evasive, argumentative, insulted and stupidly unaware that he had a responsibility to fulfill by a date certain.

Or maybe he got a phone call from Trump to stall the completion of the national budget while Trump was still trying to rake in enough evidence to cover the $4.5 - $6.0 Trillion tax deductions for his wealthy supporters.

Firing federal employees
Merging/dismanteling governments agencies
Cuts to state budgets
Or anything else Trump can think of to lay the burden of his tax cuts for the wealthy on the shoulders of the taxpayers and consumers.

Right now, Roberts and the U.S Supreme Court is no more than a convenient tool to Donald Trump.

Roberts may try but it's too late for him to back away from the fact that he's been a co-conspirator in Trump's master plan to incrementally demolish democracy in America.

Why Roberts sold out, one can only speculate. It's a mystery to me what he and the other conservatives on the court stand to gain.
