My wife and I sold farmland we owned in 2022. Primarily soybeans, wheat, and corn.

Sadly, the doors to those markets are now slamming shut. I feel for the brothers who bought it. Things are gonna get really tough.

Futures point to another bloodbath today (Monday).

401k accounts, retirement accounts, and pension funds (who are heavily invested in stocks) will all suffer.

Meanwhile, Trump golfs while America (and the world) gets burned (nod to Nero)

I got out of the market (only 25% of retirement funds) and went all cash the day after Trump was elected. Many haven't had that luxury.

My cousin is a pretty high level manager with the Bureau of Land Management. When we were talking a couple weeks ago about this very subject, he told me he's probably in trouble because he just just required the power company to spend millions of dollars in fire abatement measures.

I told him if he was asked to say that after it cost Pacific Gas and Power billions in fines following California fires, he didn't want that power company he was mandating to lose billions of dollars in the case of a fire (instead of his watching out for the environment). You know, looking out for the corporation. I hope that explanation would help him keep his job.
