It would have cost a million dollars to put sirens on the Guadalupe River in Kerr county. For as much as right wingers claim to value life, they certainly don't where the rubber meets the road regarding health care or spending to keep citizens safe in known flood zones in Texas.

I know they do their own printing on mugs, tee shirts, jackets etc etc at their own facility. Not sure where they source their blank items from but I can bet they'll be paying more. Since their clients are corporations, it may not affect them too much.

The State of Texas refused to fund a $1,000,000 grant for a siren warning system in Kerr County after county commissioners refused to fund it, saying they couldn't afford it.

All while the state government of Texas slashed property taxes by $54 BILLION.

That $1 million grant would have been 1/54000th of that amount.

What more needs to be said? Republicans love to give tax breaks and cut services to the people who pay them.

I have a friend who went into the Army after a few years of gigging on guitar. He spent 16 years, all of it on guitar in an Army band that played dances and did the full range from rock to R&B, sometimes with a horn section. When they cut his band (among others) he and his wife started a business they're still running.

BTW, I've read three of Velikovky's books. Interesting premises and interesting reads. I recall, for instance, he linked ancient Greek mythology to the time Mars entered the sun's orbit and looked as though it had a beard and horns from an electrical field... tropical vegetation found in the Arctic to bolster the theory the earth's axis shifted, etc etc. I also recall reading back then that his books were once required reading at several Ivy League schools.

I'm never for victim blaming after a catastrophe.

Facts are, electing Trump and Republican governments have led to massive cuts in FEMA, the NWS, and Texas refusing to fund sirens along the Guadalupe river for $1,000,000 at the same time they slashed property taxes by $51 BILLION.

My greater concern is the avalanche of porcelain figurines and knick knacks that will descend upon the world when boomer inheritances are divvied out.

We have USAA as well. Great company.

Years ago, my wife and I almost bought a different house than our current one. It was on 7 acres in a great area of the city. We balked because the driveway access went across someone else's yard with an easement, and we'd have had to spend oodles to get direct driveway access from the road that sat 20' above the property. We ended up so grateful we passed on buying it because of that.

When a 100 year flood happened years ago that house was completely submerged.

Cadet Bone Spurs couldn't care less about those "suckers and losers" who work at the VA or veterans who depend on the VA system.

No, he didn't. Where do you get your misinformation from?

Republicans won a majority in the House in the 2010 midterm elections.

Republicans won a majority in the Senate in the 2014 midterm elections

And Obama only had 4 months with a 60 seat majority in the Senate.
