I think you're seeing Fauci all wrong.

Frankly, rather than Fauci being a deflection for Trump, I think Fauci is really a deflection for Democrats and media figures who aggressively promoted misinformation, supported prolonged restrictions, and helped damage the economy. "Don't blame us. We just did what Fauci said."

Trump clearly did not want the economy shut down. Democrats were far more willing to prolong the shutdowns, and many of them had an obvious political incentive to blame Trump for the consequences.

They saw this as a way to harm Trump and usher in greater dependence on government money.

In this day and age with all our technology, why should we be shipping uncounted ballots other than those necessary?

I wasn't planning to keep discussing this, but here's what I'm trying to say.

I'm glad you didn't have any problems voting. My concern isn't about individual experiences. It's about the system as a whole.

Think about the bigger picture. Millions of uncounted ballots are transported by truck and by air before they're processed. They're uncounted at that stage.

From a logistics standpoint, there are many ways large volumes of ballots could be lost, damaged, or otherwise fail to reach their destination. When we're talking about a presidential election in the most powerful country in the world, I don't think it's enough to assume everything will always work perfectly.

Systems work fine until they don't.

I'm also concerned about situations where one person in a household fills out multiple ballots, potentially denying another family member the opportunity to cast their own vote. I also believe every person should be able to cast their ballot privately and anonymously.

Ballot harvesting is another issue that deserves discussion. Whatever rules are in place should be clear, consistently enforced, and carry meaningful penalties for anyone who breaks them.

Notice that I never used the word "fraud." My point is about logistics and election administration. Given today's technology, I think we should minimize the need to transport large numbers of uncounted ballots whenever possible.

And for people who need flexibility because of work, transportation, or scheduling, we already have early voting in many places to help address those challenges.
