Mexico has agreed to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in exchange for a one-month delay on President Donald Trump's threatened tariffs, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday. Sheinbaum made the announcement on social media Monday morning, roughly 12 hours before the tariffs were set to take effect. Trump and Sheinbaum spoke on Monday and agreed that Mexico will do more to combat drug trafficking into the U.S., and that the U.S. will step up efforts to block the flow of firearms into Mexico. Sheinbaum also said officials with the U.S. and Mexico were beginning talks on wider trade and security issues.

To all normal folk who have not partaken of the Kool-Aid of globalism, this will sound perfectly reasonable. Of course we love our own children more " incalculably more " than the children of far-flung nations.

Democrats did not lose the presidency and both chambers of Congress because of their support for trans rights or opposition to the expansion of oil and gas drilling. They lost because normal people had no idea where they stood on any of the things that normal people care about. Instinctively, Americans understood that the Democrats no longer knew who they were. Democrats were awkward, seemingly unable to say if they were the party of billionaire donors or middle-class normies. And when you see that one awkward guy at a backyard barbecue or your kid's baseball practice, you flee.
Tiffany Henyard, the scandal-plagued mayor of Dolton, Illinois, was seen on video jumping into a chaotic brawl that broke out between her boyfriend and an activist who called her a "b----" during a heated board meeting Tuesday night. The fight happened during a Thornton Township Board of Trustees meeting, after activist Jedidiah Brown had some strong words for Henyard. Brown referenced the findings of former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's investigation into Henyard, as a scathing report presented to the village board Monday night alleged a pattern of deception and mismanagement of funds by the mayor.
