Montenegro will extradite Hyeong Do Kwon to Seoul, rejecting Washington's request for his extradition. The former CEO and co-founder of the cryptocurrency company Terraform Labs is being sought by US and South Korean authorities for his alleged role in capital market and securities fraud involving assets worth some $40 billion. South Korean media reported multiple suicides were associated with the collapse of Terraform Forms and still-to-be-determined numbers of people lost their life savings. read more


The US deployment will be in response to threats from Iran and Iranian-backed militias after Israel allegedly assassinated Ismail Haniyeh on sovereign Iranian territory a few days ago. Austin Schoemann (30) of Wichita, Kansas, pleaded guilty to violating several federally protected civil rights of three victims. Schoemann admitted that on 27 July 2022, he brandished a firearm and used racial slurs in order to threaten two black juveniles while they were entering a QuikTrip gasoline station, and that he also used his firearm to threaten a black adult who intervened to support the juveniles. read more

A federal grand jury in Houston, TX indicted Sanjay Kumar (43) of Bihar, India for selling and shipping tens of thousands of dollars' worth of counterfeit oncology pharmaceuticals into the US. Kumar and his co-conspirators allegedly arranged for the sale and shipment of fake, counterfeit versions of oncology pharmaceuticals, including Keytruda, to individuals in the US. read more

Lizelle Gonzalez, a Starr County TX woman, self-managed her abortion and is suing prosecutors and a local sheriff after she was held in jail for two nights on a murder charge that was ultimately dismissed. The plaintiff filed a civil rights complaint alleging that hospital staff provided her private information to prosecutors and the county sheriff who later charged her with murder. Ms. Gonzalez is seeking over $1 million in damages. read more
