Those Vikings who originally colonized Newfoundland had no significant military technological edge over the indigenous habitants, so mutual casualty rates in battle were high. But sending Viking reinforcements from Scandinavia was problematic. Dragon-ships carried 100 warriors and the largest Viking ships traveled five to six knots using oar power and up to ten knots under sail.

The later European colonists with firearms, armor, horses, and larger sailboats gave them an advantage over the indigenous peoples so the colonies were worth the effort, unlike Newfoundland. Plus the diseases the later colonists transmitted to the indigenous peoples were much more dangerous to the natives.

There is a synchronicity involving the timing of this important report. Carlisle Indian Industrial School alumnus Jim Thorpe was the first Native American to ever win a gold medal for the US. In the 1912 Summer Olympics held in Stockholm, Sweden, Jim Thorpe won one gold medal in the classic pentathlon and one gold medal in the decathlon. In 1913, his two gold medals were wrongfully taken away from him, but in 1983 the IOC posthumously re-awarded him and gave his two children replica gold medals.

BTW: One of Jim Thorpe's 1912 Olympics teammates who didn't win a medal was none other than future US Army General George S. "Old Blood and Guts" Patton who competed in the military pentathlon.

In addition to sanctioning Russia, President Biden punished Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Since 7 Oct 2023, these marauders have killed approximately 370 Palestinians in the West Bank in order to appropriate Palestinian homes and property.

The sanctions will block designated Israeli settlers from access to the US financial system, blocking them from any type of property in the US and freezing any property that they might already own. The sanctions will also include a ban on entry to the US.

Australia and Japan followed President Biden's "soft power" approach and sanctioned them as well.

Years ago a squad of Border Patrol agents set up a roadblock over an hour's drive south of the US-Canadian border. But that major highway is also used by AMCITs not coming from Canada so they wouldn't have their passports on them to prove their US citizenship. I was able to prove my US citizenship and allowed to go, but this was invasive, time-consuming, and unconstitutional.
