#5 You probably have a 80% better chance of getting interviewed/hired if you know someone with the company that can forward your resume to the hiring manager. This is actually the best way to bypass professional HR - of course - it will still not work on the Fortune 500 if you are a white male. However, most managers are not looking for the next super star on their team - most managers don't want to be out shown and then they have to worry about you leaving. They are looking for someone that is reliable and will not cause workplace drama. So, the recommendation can be a simple as this - 'this is a solid guy I have known for a few years from my old job'.

1.) As most posters on here are white males (using that term loosely as you are 'liberal white males') - don't bother applying to Fortune 500 companies unless you are applying for a specific technical role in which you have truly unique skills as you will not be hired. Before you go crying about it, remember that you are the ones that created this system. It is just easier for hiring managers to not rock the boat and bring in the DEIs.

2.) Probably half of those job listings you see online are fake - they are just gathering resumes or put up to give the appearance the company is still expanding.

3.) We are now in a world of professional HR - so, you need to pay much more attention to matching the key words they are looking for rather than using specialist terms in your field as the HR person is likely a non-technical moron along with being 1.) female, 2.) gay male, or 3.) BIPOC. At most, they will spend 10-15 seconds scanning your resume before moving on. So, you need to make their job as easy as possible by matching all the key terms from job description within the top half of the resume because they won't make it past that.

4.) Should you receive an interview - and I cannot stress this enough - DO NOT BE YOURSELF. No one, and I mean no one likes weak leftist men. They make right wing men repulsed and dry up a --- faster than a ShamWow. So, get an adult haircut, wash it, shave off the neckbeard and unique mustache combo, leave off the my little pony pin and colorful socks and go with a nice navy blue suit. Spend more time listening in the interview - the less that you talk and reveal your true self, the better.
