this happened as described in the Post report, it was, at best, a war crime under federal law. I say "at best" because, as regular readers know, I believe the attacks on these suspected drug boats " without congressional authorization, under circumstances in which the boat operators pose no military threat to the United States, and given that narcotics trafficking is defined in federal law as a crime rather than as terrorist activity, much less an act or war " are lawless and therefore that the killings are not legitimate under the law or armed conflict. Illegal immigrants by definition broke the law just crossing the border without authorization. Sanctuary cities don't report illegal immigrant crime. So what good is that stat?

Being undocumented (unlawful presence) in the U.S. is generally a civil violation, i.e. not a crime. Crossing the border illegally is. But we've made it practically impossible to cross the border legally.

And saying that Sanctuary Cities don't report illegal immigrant crime is not just a distortion of the truth but just a flat out lie.

Care to provide any proof?

GL. I already checked. Yep! More proof that you ate a lying Commie Spyboy.

Contrary to what many believe, sanctuary policies do not conceal or shelter undocumented immigrants from detection. Nor do they shield immigrants from deportation or prosecution for criminal activities. State and local police still enforce state and local criminal laws against immigrants who are accused of committing a crime in sanctuary jurisdictions. Importantly, the Supreme Court has made clear that "as a general rule, it is not a crime for a[n undocumented immigrant] to remain present in the United States."

Research published in 2020 by the National Academy of Sciences found that sanctuary policies did not prevent the "deportations of people with violent convictions." The research"which analyzed FBI crime data and ICE deportation data"found that the implementation of sanctuary policies between 2010 and 2015 did not affect crime rates in jurisdictions with such policies or result in fewer people with violent convictions being deported.
