I believe there are a lot of moderates and liberals who would agree it's not an unreasonable argument to question their tax dollars going to a university miles out of their reach with a $53B endowment.

I don't think that means they support this threat by Trump. I would set that aside completely.

It's not that Harvard isn't serious about education.

It's that Harvard is very particular about who they want to receive their education and how their school is perceived.

Legacy and large donor admissions are a big big deal to them.

Harvard tries to be ranked very high on various lists.

law school
business school
engineering
medicine
etc...

They want to be ranked high but they also need to balance it with lowering their standards for legacy and donor admissions.

FWIW, their law school recently dropped out of the coveted T3 of law schools.

For good reason, the for-profit prison system takes a bad rap in this country.

I did some reading on this...I didn't realize the federal govt. supported unemployment as much as it does. I thought it was almost entirely funded by the respective states.

El Salvador still has to volunteer to give him up. If they don't, then I don't know what "facilitate" means but since it's in "" then maybe it's defined specifically somewhere in that document issued by the court.

I think money is the point to the Salvadorans. Have these "criminals" done anything to the citizens of El Salvador? Committed any crimes? We've established there is no evidence they committed crimes in the US that would alarm them.
