Nobody lost their democracy. At least not with this statement. Citizens United, gerrymandering, etc....those are different issues worth arguing (and we do all the time)

as I said yesterday, all states are guilty of ignoring proper emergency management solutions.

It's not like liberals don't believe in emergency management, fire, flood, etc....all of that.

It's really that it's hard to get support for what we need all the time. There will always be more need than resources to solve problems. Think of the other things that funds went to rather than where it could have gone and it's always easy to play monday morning quarterback. I had quite the time watching folks spin and spin and spin after the Pacific Palisades (and other communities) were engulfed in flames recently.

I realize partisans are convinced their side is pure and better and the other side is neglectful, mean, wasteful, and that they WANT these bad things to happen.

Some people grow out of such absurd ideological beliefs. Well, the wisest of us never allow themselves to be entraped them into a horrible state of anger, hostility, and stupidity.

There is nothing undemocratic about a church expressing its view or simply facilitating a discussion about a political issue.

It's a great example of democracy.

The tax issue is separate. I agree with most of you on the tax issue.

I grew up on a farm.

My MIL still lives on her farm and I get the pleasure of cleaning out a chicken house, mowing, removing and trimming trees, painting, etc...
