In a complete betrayal to the Democratic Party that made him and his father Mario Cuomo wealthy, powerful, and successful, disgraced ex-NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to announce he is staying in the race for NYC mayor as an independent.
In the Democratic Party primary this summer, Zohran Mamdani beat out Andrew Cuomo by twelve percentage points. Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa vowed he's "not going anywhere. I'm in it until 4 Nov. Andrew Cuomo lost his primary and hides in the Hamptons," Curtis Sliwa carped, "Eric Adams skipped his [primary] and fled to Fort Lauderdale. Now, they're both running as independents to cling to relevance."
The abominable Andrew Cuomo was forced to resign his governorship of NYS over allegations of sexual impropriety and his Emmy Award was revoked because of his dissembling over his response to the COVID epidemic. An aide to Cuomo was forced to resign during the campaign because of his connections to the Chinese CCP. Worse, last year Andrew Cuomo was hired to defend ICC-indicted war criminal Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the Hague.
Recent polls show that if Cuomo runs, Mamdani would have a lead of about 35%, with the disgraced ex-governor following behind at about 30%.
